Looks really good, mine didn't even look close to that. Respect for your tidiness

I did all mine last year and the part that reduced the noise the most was under the arch trim. I used one layer of the rubber sound deadening and a thin layer of foam.
I'd also recommend if you haven't already, doing doors. Silentcoat and then some dense acoustic foam for directly behind the speakers, adds a good amount of bass after.
Hi There,

How did you remove the side panels in the boot to get to the wheel arches?

Many thanks,

Nick

Not sure if there's an easier way, removed back seats, removed bolt for seat belt and then there's 2 screws on the trim.
Be careful when screwing them back in, I had too much foam behind the panel and ended up stripping the thread

Fed the belt through the trim and removed it

Thanks buddy, that's really helpful, much appreciated.

Hello!

I thought I would share some pictures about sound deadening luggage and installing VW Golf floormat.
Before, sound deadening and the final result with the matt. The result: A more premium feeling and alot less sound from the road.

Before, almost no sound deadening.

@LeylandVCDS this is the golf estate floor cover, fits tidy actually!

@SuperV8 Hiya mate, sorry to jump on an old post. I have ordered 5F9863463, I intend on fitting it later, do you know if any trim will need removing, I intend on removing the boot lip protector, to start, do you know if the panels on the left and right hand side have to come off too? any pre install info would help a bunch!

No idea, it wasn't me who added this trim.

No worries mate, I've managed to get the bits circled green off just need to figure out how to get off the lower part of the side pocket walls (don't know how you'd describe it but I think you get what I mean hopefully.)

@BradleyH After you remove the plastic nut, it pulls right out (with some force). It latches into the carpet bits with protruding bits (cant describe it better lol)
Totally know what you are saying mate, I have just fitted mine, with a mate and some man handling we managed to do it without removing it, one person just needs a good grip on the carpet and some force whilst the other one stuffs the rest of the carpet under neatly. The seat version part number 5F9863463 covers the bare metal in the middle near the back seats like with the original posters golf version (not throwing any shade his way I still like what he has done)
