Seat SATNav and Handsfree

Hi,

Does anyone that has the SEAT factory fit SatNav system installed in their Leon/Toledo had a handsree kit wired into the car?

A mate of mine has just upgraded to a Nokia N73 and wants to fit a bluetooth kit to the car and is a bit worried about it screwing up the satnav setup?

Can anyone advise?

Cant see it being an issue as unless he install a kit that wires to the stereo. The power for the bluetooth kit should come from the bus connector not the stereo loom

I had a CK7W fitted to my last Leon Cupra that had factory fit satnav. The company tapped straight into the power and ground wires for the bluetooth brain and wired straight into the speakers / mute for the satnav. This worked fine. If you are fitting it yourself and don't want wires cut I'd look at a suitable telemute harness from Autoleads, this is if your kit doesn't have this as standard....

If you get yourself a Parrot kit, you should have no problems at all and no need to cut any wires.

The Parrot kits draw their power from the ISO connections on your head unit. You just plug them in line with that and that's the hardest part done. All you then need to do is connect the Parrot kit to the phone-mute wire on your head unit, plug the leads into the Parrot control box and find a place to mount everything. Nice and easy with no cutting or messing around at all

cheers for the replies.. so there is no issue with wiring the handsfree up to the satnav/hu for using the speakers and the mute line.

He doesn't want to fit it himself, can anyone recommend a company in Surrey/Berkshire area?

I have a nokia handsfree in my car with the factory sat nav. I used the telemute lead and everything is fine. I live in Berkshire too and have all the bits required to remove unit etc. It was so easy to do, the only issue is finding the space behind the unit to put all the wires. I also have an aux in for an MP3 and another plug and play adaptor for rca line outs so space is tight now.

looks the same as mine but remember the centre console is different for sat nav cars and i think its about £400 alone check the sticky for usefull part numbers and prices i think its in there
