Seat stock levels...

My car is currently in the garage following a front end bump, but its taking forever to get sorted because apparently they are waiting on a few parts from Seat which they say are on back-order..

Is it usual for seat to have such low levels of parts, I would of thought they would keep front end peices in stock, the bits that always get damaged in accidents... they cant even give my garage a date when they will get them in !!

Could be weeks before I get her back now :(

i've had a right ball ache waiting for a bottom ball joint.. took two weeks in the end, finally recieved it today and wacked it on, but i'vce been without my car for two weeks now because a part (which i would assume was a part they would keep loads of) didnt have one in the country! even rang round VW and skoda!
basically just keep ringin the dealer, asking hem to do a part search, it searches everywhere for what your looking for, (it does work, i found one, there was a balls up with the delivery!) but luckily they joint was off back order so i got it fixed today.

Had a similar experience. I needed new locks and keys and they were on back order. They assured me a couple of weeks. Eight weeks later it has finally been done. You would think they stock a fairly critical security feature. Luckily I had other anti-theft device and my spare key...but it was a ball ache.

Hopefully you will have more luck.

keys and locks are a nightmare as they are not just 'shelf' items and need making to suit but must admit i'm surprised at front end stuff

what are they waiting for?

My Cupra R was sat at a body shop for over a month waiting for a new drivers door from Seat. I ended up sourcing a local 2nd hand one in the end.

I was recovering from a wrist operation, so I couldn't drive the car anyway, but it still took the piss!

They mentioned a radiator cover or something.. is there a blown out diagram like the old microfiche system online as i'd like to identify the parts. Will definitely ring them tomorrow though and get the part numbers myself,

dont forget after the bad weather we have had the stocks of front and back end parts will be low, with all the little accident that will have happened in the snow and ice!
