hey there i have a simple one for yous what does the sec air pump do?!?! i have noticed the pipe along the front of the manifold is split on my 1.8t cupra. will this affect the car. i was told the pump only for cold starts but is this right. thanks again!

It has something to do with the emissons a few of us have taken it off

Pretty sure it pumps fresh air into the exhaust to reduce the emissions on cold start ups

Correct.

ECU also runs it when burning off petrol fumes from the EVAP system.
