I've read a few post regarding shopping around for prices and people mentioning Skoda and VW.

What I wanted to know is whether this invalidates the warranty ?

I was told on the phone by SEAT customer services during general chat that when it comes to servicing it is very difficult to invalidate the warranty.

I am assuming if this is right then you can shop around with main dealers and that obviously a back street garage doing a botch job would obviously invalidate the warranty

aslong as the vehicle is serviced to manufacturers guidlines, using genuine or same/higher quality parts and by a VAT approved garage then the warranty will be okay :)

HI MATEY:lol:
it,s ok to have a non SEAT dealer service your car but if you get any problems
later with the car SEAT will not help out (ie.goodwill gestures):help:

I have had experience of this when i owned a SKODA

If you do use a dealer STAY AWAY FROM JCT'S:ban:

Cheers, yes I bought my Altea from JCT's before I found this site unfortunately !!

All warranty work and the first service was done at Richard Alexander in Huddersfield, much more professional and friendly. PLUS RA charge a one off fee of £15 if you want to waiver the excess on a courtesy car whilst JCT's charge an unbelievable £12.99 PER DAY !!

Anyone thinking of using these then think very carefully, friendly as **** when they are taking your hard earned cash of you but absoulutely disgraceful after sales service when things go wrong. I think SEAT should pull the plug on them .
