short shifter for 1.4?

i saw a couple of months ago on autotrader that a guy was selling his 1.4 ibiza with a short shifter, i actually called him up and asked about it and unluckily he just said that the garage done all the work and he doesnt know anything about how its done etc ....so im just wondering if anyone has done it here, or if anyone knows any prices on that? ...i want 1

not sure... the mechanism isn't really able to be altered at the gearbox end. maybe it just had the shaft cut down

sorry to bring up an old thread but wanted to know if this is the same for a mk3??? would a cupra 5speed shifter not fit??? i was looking at the b&m sifters???

I think its just a cut down shifter so that it makes it a shorter throw when changing gears.

Could the same effect be achieved by holding the gear stick half way down?
