SE Model, Door mirror dips to Park?

I heard from the dealership that my side mirrors were meant to go down to see the kerb when reverse gear is engaged... since ownership they have never done this..any ideas?

Are we talking here about getting for example an SE model, which I have, to have the reversing mirror function? I realise that the FR model already has this ability but would think that as my car has electrically adjustable mirrors anyway that the hardware is already installed to enable a computer update to automate this reversing function?

The adjuster switch needs to be set to the "L" position for the reverse dip function to work.

yup. put in L, stick in reverse, change the mirror using the knobby thing to look whereever you like at the curb, job done. drive forward a bit, reverse a bit to test it. (might need you to turn off and on again maybe)

Thanks Guys, but I guess that you may have the FR Leon which is specified with this function. My point is that would you know, or guess, that the SE Leon (1.4Tsi) which does not have the facility as standard could be enabled with a software change. After all the, mirror is already motorised and it only needs an appropriate electrical signal from the reverse sensor?

That has puzzled me too Orbiter

Why, when your mirror already has the necessary equipment to be adjusted electrically, it doesn't after you've set it up to do so when reversing without that function being activated by VCDS.

You'd think it would be standard across the Leon model range, it's a very useful aid I would have thought.

hehe... well it kinda makes sense. the rear of the car should probably face traffic as the rear reflectors will catch light at night. so on the lhd cars, its the right mirror that dips i believe.
