Another design floor is at the back between the boot and the glass at the back there is a gap and my derv just chucks black smoke into that gap and when i use the rear washer the water runs in that gap then down the back of the car and i get about 500 black lines going down the back of my car

I agree that shelf is the worst piece of design ive ever seen, everything falls out of there, I just decided to never put anything in there again.

The cd holder sounds good though. Dont know why they didnt just move up the climate controls so that they were higher and easier to access.

Guessing it was to allow for double head unit?

yep - for about 3 million quid you could get the SEAT MFD sat nav system which was double DIN

Thanks for the replies guys.

Seat should just have the shelf sloping down at a slight angle (like my old car had) and there wouldnt be this probelm! I think I'm either going to plug my zen vision player into the aux socket, or go wireless and get a radio frequency transmitter for it. Only problem with that is that i wont be able to use the steering wheel controls for changing track etc. The other thing I was thinking was to get a DVD headunit and just stick my entire music collection on a few DVD's.

yeah ive got one of those,
quite handy but i wouldnt put any master copies of ure cds in there as mine dont last long, pulling them in and out of the slots scratches them up a treat.
legal backups of cds you have purchased of course ;)

Ive swapped my standard piece of alana poo for a slightly better JVC mp3 unit. So i have all my albums on say 2-3 mp3 cds then you dont have to change them over so much.

Bilston.
That shelf is ace for putting my ipod in. A quick bit of cutting and you can get the extender cable for your ipod in there. Plug ur IPOD in and push it to he back of the compartment (surpised how deep it is) and you're away. Auto changer or let you passengers select their tracks.

I've also consider a wireless connection to a carpooter or pda esq device in the glove box perhaps to house more mp's and to allow wireleess uplaoding of new tracks..

Or buy a double din (correct term?) head unit.
