I am using 1045 Galfers as I arranged the group buy, I sourced these before the group buy and then alot of people wanted them so it went big air -
The 1045s are fine for everyday driving -more feel with the pedal and harder compound than OEM. The 1055's are the fast road version and by all accounts are very good, I havnt used them yet as my 1045s have hardly warn-but then I did get 18,000 miles out of the OEM ones due to 'my smooth driving style' ..lol

Awesome thanks everyone. Really appreciate it. I guess the two things I want to avoid is 1. Too frequent replacements, 2. reduction in stopping power.

Ill check out the guide, and then beg hairy to save me when I get in a mess :))

Really appreciate the time everyone thanks.

Ruddles eh ? Fantastic beer, I used to live not far from its source and now I live down in Reading town, any decent beer is a treat :) Ruddles is a rare treat these days.

I also think I will recognise the pattern before long: Tyres, brakes, tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres, brakes,tyres.

BROKE. LOL.

Doh! Nothing is as nasty as servicing an Alfa GTV at an alfa dealer though. £2500 they wanted at 28k miles. Hence I came back to Seat Cupra.

FYI - I just rooted through my wallet and found the business card of a top chap I met when getting a MOT on the Alfa, he offered to do the Alfa £400 service for £120. Anyway I wanted it to remain in dealer servicing so I didnt go.

BuT

I just called him to see what he could do brake wise. Front sets fitted (he will come to work). £121

OK, so he is using OE parts, which I know some will question. But its convenient and cheaper (by £100) than my dealer. In fact the parts from EMMER GREEN are more than this chap will fitr them for.

Sorry Hairy - if I ever get to meet you Ill try and rememeber a Ruddles for you just for your offer of help ;-)

Cheers everyone.
