hi all,lifted the bonnet and the lining was soaked,where does the water run in from and how do i stop it thanks.

Mine either unfortunately. Open the bonnet after it's been raining or washed and water dribbles out from between the underneath of the sound deadening/lining and the actual bonnet.
Looks like they only replaced mine and didn't put any foam/rubber near the scuttle to stop the water getting under there in the first place.

I may have a solution for you
I fitted the modified clips from seat which hold the scuttle panel onto the bonnet about 3 months ago.
But this didn't solve the issue
So, on thursday, I decided I was going to try and stop it once and for all.
I removed the sound deadening, got a black bin sack and cut it open so that it was one large rectangle of plastic. I then placed the plastic on the floor and the sound deadening on top of it. Then I used a stanley knife to cut around the plastic in the same shape as the sound deadening.
Next, I used black windscreen sealant to stick the plastic to the back of the sound deadening, I was careful to ensure it was sealed all the way around the edges.
Once left for a couple of hours to dry, I refitted the sound deadening. Its early days yet and hasn't rained here much so time will tell if it works. In theory the water should run down the plastic and out the bottom of the bonnet behind the front grill area now, thus leaving the sound deadening dry.

Don't wish to burst your bubble but the bonnet felt is smaller than the engine bay, the water will just run off it onto the engine and electrics. If the bonnet felt has already been soaked many times (older than about 6 months), it will have softened and sag so probably water will collect on it after rain until it's driven or you open the bonnet.

Thanks for the input, its a new piece of sound deadening as the old one was really sagging quite badly.
I will get the fix, using the foam strips that SEAT has now come up with as detailed in the link posted in this thread above.

I'm sure someone has piped from the centre hole, which I think could be the only way to fix this. . .
Well I have mine removed to, but i doubt anyone is to fussed about the insulation, it's what the water drops on that's the problem. . .

It wont stop it if you remove the sound proofing.
The water will still get into the engine bay and will now go to different areas , theres another thread running on here at the moment about rusty coil pack bores and this guy hasnt got the sound proofing fitted !
You need to fix the problem , removing the sound proofing is nt fixing the issue but masking the problem.
It may have worked for you , but not every car is built the same , only some cars suffer from the rusty coil pack issues.

Should state in the Seat leon manual,
Only to be driven in non rainy conditions .
