Sounds like a diesel

Does anyone elses leon cupra sound like a diesel on turn of the key?

This is pretty normal, my LCR sounded like a diesel on start up. I believe it's a function of the hydraulic tappets and the time it takes for the oil pressure to get upto normal operating level at the top of the engine.

cheers guys, i didnt think it was a problem. Just thought it was pretty kack thats all.

Im used to the start up of an RX-8 which was ALOT quiter!

nah mine doesnt sound like a diesel at all, the exhaust is quite rumbly when the engine is cold but thats about it but i love the rumble

lol..yea mine does to. I was wondering about this..but then realised..its just how it is. Might be something to do with small engined turbo cars...as my car..my mates focus rs..and my mates astra vxr all sound like deisels on start up.
