i have vista on my PC and i can run the app, no idea about it working with the car as my laptop has XP
also are you both using ebay usb cables? if the app runs just dont pick up the car, i wonder whether a genuine usb cable or serial cable are ok

mine runs and connects to the car, just wont activate
let me know if you get a work around - using my old xp laptop for now but wanna get it running on my new vista one

I've got a scangauge, so reading and clearing faults is easy, but its the logging i want to do.

This is how i got mine working.
Disable the annoying secuirty pop up thing.
Run 409.1. Try running as admin as well.

right then boys with the sale of my bike on the weekend and some saving coming out in the next couple of weeks iv got around 2200quid to spend, and its all going on the car!
iv decided i am going to have a dark red leather retrim with these guy's http://www.mjinteriors.co.uk/featured.asp only going to traval so far to have it because iv seen the work on my mates car and its the best you can get! its booked in for august the 4th......
p.s im not sure on wot colour yet as im waiting for the samples to come out i think im gna go with the silver mk4 colour
so that leaves me with around 700quid on which i cant wot to have
so i need sum ideas, the body work is sorted, rideheight, brakes, interior
a few little ideas floating around boost controller, scan gauge, battery in the boot but i dont know prices set up etc
wot else u recommed and how much?

with the diff dave i was planning to have a big turbo conversion at the end of the year so was going to take the engine out for that so was planning to have the diff done at the same time, otherwise i think its just a pain!

No they weren't expensive when my mate had his cossie done, leather and alcantara, even trimmed the new speaker surrounds, and retrimmed the install in a last minute dash.
