look on the back of the bumper and there are 3 pegs that align the bumper into the crash bar, push the mesh over these to make it straight and then drill two small holes alongside each other behind the rubbing strip and loop a cable tie though, do these evenly spaced maybe 3 times? then do the same on the lip at the bottom of the bumper and it pulls tight perfectly.

lol brute force. its a boost pipe you thought you'd just bend it out the way? lol :)

sounds like jonzy's new toy is filter related as hes selling his green panel filter ;)

Dont even bother doin all that what dave said. Push it over the pegs and the bumper will hold it in place against the core and crash bar.

What about the CAI?

And yeah matt, we're all going as far as i know. 1.30 in Sarn.

sorry phil cai didnt fit its no where near. mates just taken it off me, it would never have fitted had the smic still been in place either hose would be exactly where the filter would be

mesh looks alright, its not firmly attached but it'll do. didnt have to trim any of the lower bumper :D dont think ill be doing that again soon. unless i get paid. it was worth saving 100quid tho

No net in the house now.:censored: my laptop earlier. pushed it off the side HD seems funked now. That means bye bye VAGCOM.
Have to see if they will send me another code somehow def. not paying £50 or so again!
Carl, will a little bending of the pipe here or there get it near enough, or is it a mile off. A mate said if I bought it and it wasnt quite right he'd try get it to fit. He makes exhausts so got the equipment

looking at the pics of the CAI that you bought carl. I think that it is the same one that i got.

I was going to try and fit it but if you say it won't fit at all then i might just get a flexible hose and make a CAI out of it.

this is the one that i got

OK I WONT LIE

it was tight though, and i had to just bend out the brackets just to guide it behind the battery

tbh the blue hose could have been a 45 degree bend, might have made things easier

and the the pipe was right against the plastic wheel arch but i just forced it away to get the filter on. bumper went on fine no problems.

def gonna get something to cover the filter though as its pretty close to the road. overall though i cant believe i paid 150quid for the dynatwist and this thing cost me less than 50quid

Looking good carl, some day pics would be nice.

From the look of it, the fitment should be able to twist, and then have the filter in the back half of the arch, and then it would be better shielded.

Did you have to order anything else, or did it all come as one?

not sure what you mean in the back half of the arch?
as it is now the filter is right up against the plastic. but the whole underneath is exposed and just waiting to get wet

i just ordered one of the kits in the ebay link above but sometime i will get an elbow for the maf

I mean, can it be situated in the rear of the arch, ie, from side on view, sitting behind the wheel, as opposed to in front of the wheel.

Front of wing to back of wing.

no chance Tom, i guess you never fitted your fmic

the subframe is right next to the filter theres just no room, plus its sort of sitting where it wants to not where i wanted it to, but the way the pipes been bent, i think it would just kink if it was bent more
