Rods are the weak point, get em done asap, and get the ****ing turbo kit ordered!

Shut the **** up fool!

Wont be doing it til the end of the month anyway, so you're gonna have to wait about a month for the tubby i reckon.

We gonna do it all one weekend? Do mine saturday/sunday and swap yours sunday?

Lets just get yours up and running, I dont give a **** about mine at the mo.

Yours is gunno need a little bit of thought, might have to put the k03s back on if cant get it all done

Lol. Fair enough. Good point on the head scratching, might have to have some head scratching.

I'm aiming to have it back by the end of the month with rods, clutch and diff fitted.

Might not have to buy new pistons afterall. :D

Looks like the wear is minimal and will just need a hone and new rings.

I think i'll still throw in some rods tho, he said everything looks mint otherwise, all clean and looking good.

Finally some good news.

Good news. I'd have suspected rings first.

The thing is, while it's in bits, do you bite the bullet and whop in a set of pistons while the rods are being fitted? It depends on your timescale and end power aim.

To be honest dave, i think i might just stick with the rods, for the power i'm aiming for, mid 300's i dont think i'll have any problems with the pistons as thyre still in good condition.

Any more power and i'd look at doing the pistons and valves or if i had to rebore.

Ho Kay Phil!

I'm available for helping with the work on the car too, if needs be.

Carl, get some Wheel Brightener on those wheels, and they'll come up shiney shiney shiney!!

Tom, will give you a shout if needs be. Do you still have you standard downpipe i could buy off you? Or anyone for that matter.

Matt, whats the clutch like to change?

I cant see me having my clutch and diff done by cam sport now as i think the bill is gonna be huge if i do and i'm not sure when the clutch will be delivered etc..

You really are on your own with the clutch, why did you think I paid someone todo it.

If the block is being stripped for a rehone then its gunno be no more work to wack a new fly and clutch on since they will probably take the old one off anyway. If they charge you to refit a new clutch instead of the old then they're a total bunch of *****.

Does gearboxman.co.uk do clutches and diffs?

Or do you mean fitting them?

Do i have the Standard Downpipe?? Err yes, its still fecking fitted. Gonna ring the guy today to see if i can sort out fitting the milltek.

Stan, would you say the ARB's are worth the money?

Can no one on here supply the workshop manuals for the clutch on the cupra's? IE Cupra_Matt.

When i worked on my mates cossie, we fitted the gearbox and clutch, with a cossie workshop manual. (Although being a ford, its proper engineering on those cars!)

You dont need a workshop manaul, though I do have one.

The engine isnt out of the car matt, otherwise i'd get them to do it without a doubt.

How much did dubusiness charge you for it?

Tom, hurry up then, i want that downpipe!

They wont rehone the bores in place, so it'll have to be stripped to be be machined.

Said yesterday the lump wont be coming out. But i'll confirm today what the deal is. If its out i'll deffo get the clutch changed.

Daz, carl, matt, standard downpipe?
