and im from Abergavenny. Just got home with the new car, was an eventful trip as the boost hose came loose on the motorway and had no power, but shes allright now.
Dont know the first thing about these Ibizas as Ive come from a number (6) of vauxhalls culminating in this beauty:
but fancied a change and so got myself a bog standard (bar a jetex exhaust) red 2001 cupra, 51k miles, £4500, bargain I thought. Ill get pics up at some point
Would like to meet up with some of you guys sometime and learn a bit about the car!

Gettin my clutch and flywheel fitted on monday. Diff will be done next year now.

you sure did mate, I was quite surprised u were keeping up to be honest, although to be fair I was changing early as only just had the car and wasnt used to it. I slowed down because I cooked my brakes on that last roundabout lol
What power is your putting out then? I see ur quarter mile time was only just slower than I got in the GSI, must be putting out quite a lot?

14.0 at 103mph with 293bhp (on a very hot day).
The astra wasnt so good at getting off the line though, struggled to put the power down and 1st and second would just spin the tyres, with an LSD (or a less agressive driver) I would image the times would have been in the 13s.
Ibiza did well to keep up with 230bhp! Impressive

had a look at a blue GSi on tuesday, was standard engine wise, wasnt that impressed tbh, just under 5grand at a local garage but think i'll pass on another vauxhal and keep looking towards a CTR, however i'm in no rush to leave just yet either. so many bills on the go

You can tell its crap off the mark with an ET of 103. I'd be gutted if i wasnt in low 13's for a 300 brake car.

Got a deposit down on a 2 bed appartment yest. £525 a month 2 bathrooms en suite secured private parking. Can't wait to get in! Got to wait until the new year for that too

I would have but the missus situation changed at home because of the ***** for parents.
It's on Gibbs road. Near Beechwood park. Was gutted when I turned up last night for viewing, there was a couple there before us to view. Knew i'd have it there and then because a mate in work moved into one not long ago.
Luckily they were going away to think about it so I just gave him the deposit there and then lol. Hang about and you lose out!

Yeah haha, though we won't be moving in till new year because the people are waiting to move into a house they have bought.
Didnt want to move too far away, though there was a nice place in the bay going for a bit more per month on the lake. Nice setting fair play. Couldnt do with the traffic mind,and the missus would struggle to get to and from work in newport.
