engine code is engraved onto a small block of metal on the side of the cam cover, near the oil cap...most ibizas are AYP

vagcom is wot Phil was using when he connected his laptop to ur car. u can downlod it but u need a datacable which can be bought on ebay cheap or the official thing from ross tech if u got the money to spare

otherwise sure one of us could sort u out sometime as most of us have it

yep i got vagcom, bought mine from ebay, see a couple of the ecus on ebay but its a bit of a risk whether ur actually getting a cupra R ecu or a cupra ecu

ofcourse if u were still gonna go for a remap later on then it'll make no difference having a cupra R ecu. u wont get anymore cos they will remap to the same figures

The number on the top is quite a cool give away, or plugging it into the car?

it would have been worth it for 50quid or so in my opinion, aslong as u arent gonna go for revo next month or so

obviously wot m0rk says is true if u know what number it is supposed to be, a little search would prob bring up the cupra R part number

but plugging it into the car and finding out its an ecu from a cupra after paying for it would be abit disappointing

from about a week after i bought my car the passenger side window has quit on me, i have been doing some investigation on the problem today and found that this part of the regulator is broken somewhere
