Spark plug recommendations and how-to

Right well - big thanks to AlphaMale here - received the plugs on friday as described, and all fitted this morning!

I can almost put hand on heart and say that SEAT didnt change plugs @ 40k - my garage had a look and the plugs looked quite bad (ie more like 50k miles than the 11k since my 40k service) and the coilpacks/plugs were in very tightly, looking like they had never been removed.

I can also say that car now runs better too - not had any lumpy idle syndome (yet) but touch wood this has cured/helped to cure my problems!

when changing your plugs does it make a difference if the coils go back on in a different order as i thought they was all the same if so what can it do if there wrong

as long as the wiring goes into its intended location, the actual coil packs dont matter.

so i take it that the plugs are the same on the cupra and the LCR?

Id think so they are all listed as 1.8 20v t iirc.

Added extra info :

The correct spark plug gap = 0.8 mm

( and it has been noted the LC(R) is very sensitive to the correct gap width )

So are the NGK PFR6Q's the recommended ones to get? Seem to be around £30 a set from online suppliers. Also saw this link for a changing the plugs guide.

Seem to be couple of quid cheaper at carsparkplugs.com - anyone used them?

I used the genuine seat platnium ones, they were about £10.80 each from dealers but about £5.50 each from TPS

I think they were NGK's?

Trade Parts Specialists

They sell genuine parts cheaper than the dealers, the garage my ol man works for [who gets my service parts] might get more discount than general public but they will still be cheaper than the dealers for same products
