speaker question - not about installation i promise!

Trying to change my speakers, ive got the mounts and the adaptors etc that are sold on ebay



the adaptor is a 4 pin block, but the stock part coming from the head unit is only 2 pin

when ive connected the new speakers into the circuit using the adaptor i dont get any sound from them
is this because of the connection? do I need another adaptor?



I may also be extremely stupid - the speakers run at 85w RMS and the HU output is 2x20w...do I just need less powerful speakers?


Not sure if this makes any sense but any help would be great!

i think you need less powerfull speakers, i tried to run 2x 210w on a 15w stereo, same problem i think.

got some less powerful co-axials, awaiting a dry day to give them a test!
