Juber,i ran with a standard dualmass, standard pressure plate and sachs uprated paddle plate for years before i finally went helix. stood up to countless hard launches and the clutch pedal was a bit more on/off but took about 5 mins to get used to it.just another option for you,the sachs plates are about £160 from jabba or qstuning(kim collins)

It was a regular FP Green from FP.. I only ported the housing/wastegate
nothing special

7cm housing. 8cm was 500rpm slower to get going for no top end gain you could feel.

FP red was a monstor. 8cm housing.. again all I did was spend time porting the wastegate nicer and bigger than FP did

Thanks for the input all. Looks like i have a choise of a few now.....

Spec Stage 3+
Southbend
Helix

hmmmmmm now whos the most cost affective - i wont be intending tod o launches unless im at a 1/4 mile strip, other than that its for day to day driving......

just uprate the clutch plate then unless the dualmass is ****ed

Thanks for your advice and help Caney. :)

Just a bummer which one is best to use, ill generally would like to go for a uprated clutch just for insurance that it wont fail like an OEM one is noun to do...

I went for a Sachs organic clutch even though my DMF was knackered as I didn't want any rattle for my daily driver. Looking at the sachs spec I think they rate it for around 340lb/ft so its a bit on the limit, but it's doing fine so far. Very OEM feel, if anything lighter, but a bit more on/off and a horrible smell if you slip it on hill starts etc.

if it smells on a hill start i wouldnt like to smell it after 1/4mile

i also think my spec feels lighter than original :)

Strangely it only smells when manoevring in 1st or reverse if I end up riding it a bit, no problems up the strip ;)

Looks some kit caney!!!! But jesus at that price its amazing! Lol!
How would spec or Southbend compare to Helix? Is it a brand name thing that adds to the price? or is it actually MILLION times better would you say?

I need to make my mind up quick time what to buy lol. I think buying Spec Stage 3 + & Steel Single mass flywheel from the USA is winning so far

Whats the quoted torque rating for that kit? Spec and South Bend do a range of kits holding different amounts of torque so hard to compare without a torque rating. Also if you get a kit from America are you going to have it sent as a gift from a friend so no import tax etc or are you paying tax as that will make a lot of difference on the final price.

I was $475 for the vr6 from Southbend rated at 450lb/ft, add £67 import and it's still £320 all in for one hell of a clutch......

I did'nt find the puks lasted long when I ran paddle like that. only about £60 to get it repuk'd by helix tho. but a pain to have to do it as often.

stage 3+ plate on mine is complete plate and lasting much longer as more friction material to take the wear

I've been running the Jabba Sachs item for the past 3 years and it gives a real OEM feel and has survived very well.
When we had the engine out on the rebuild it looked fine. I use a single mass lightened flywheel. I believe it's the VR6 item from memory and was sold upon their recommendation at the time.
My APR stage 3 only produces 333lbs as measured yesterday therefore I assume that's pretty low in comparison to you big big turbo boys. It's certainly good for my levels.

£320 for the clutch! Thats DAMMMMM cheap!

Spec Stage 3+ is around £600 ish iv been told? Does that sound right?

6 speed 02m gearbox doubles the price of most clutches I looked at.
I was very close to getting the Helix but in the end (good or bad) i got the spec st3+ we'll see how she hold up when I get it all running.
