Hey, I'm trying to find the speed sensor on my cupra, been through all the old posts telling me its back left of gearbox? But I can't see it. Anyone got a picture from ETKA? Also need the part number. Many thanks!!!

#3 in this pic

but you'll need a bit more specific car info to get the part number, original part should have the number on it anyway though if it helps

here's the list shown for 2001 but note there are a couple of PR codes listing also that will help narrow it down

(3) 357919149 distance sensor for vehicles with selector rods F>> 6K-1-210000
(3) 357919149B distance sensor for vehicles with selector rods F 6K-1-210001>>

(3) 191919149E distance sensor / 3 pin for vehicles with shift cable F 6K-1-210001>>

(3) 191919149E distance sensor / 3 pin / automatic

note this image is for the auto box but shows where and how (#1 + #5 ) you'll find the one on yours pretty much

Thanks flapper!!! The diagrams really helped! I was looking in completly the wrong place! Got the part off! It was in fact 357919149 )

However I was wondering if the part going actually into the gearbox was removable and likely to be damaged? It looks as tho it bolts off?

It looks like it comes undone similar to how you would remove a spark plug, with a large socket over the top of it.
My Speedo needle keeps dropping and petrol gauge goes bananas. Particularly noticeable when the turbo heats up as its right next to it!
