your just taking the facts personally :)

Nothing taken personally fella, just chipping in with my well informed opinion, as per the workings of a forum.

I've been pulled 6 times, breathalysed 3 times and had the car checked twice. On 5 out of 6 occasions they've been nothing but polite (and this was before being a cop myself) explaining it was purely for random checks etc. This is in 12 years of driving. Each time I'd done nothing wrong and had no need to give attitude.

Your 2 experiences in 11 years are obviously "the facts" that we should all be basing our opinions on though. Why don't you speak to your mate who's a cop and ask him how it really is? :)

Just friendly banter, not at all base your own opinions on your own experiences I've just heard many similar experiences like mine, I understand being in a job and getting pissed of and with people who disobey the rules being a harbourmaster, and it must be the same for police I guess you or I or everyone just needs to take the risks while being aware of the consequences and act responsibly, but I can assure you there's worse drivers out there than us car enthusiasts... Some good points raised and good discussion no offence to anybody, cheers chaps, drive safe!

I got pulled over not so long ago for failing to get up to the speed limit, in what the police called a 'sufficient time'. They let me off, though I was left dumbfounded as to why they found this worthy to pull me over.

Seems like you can't win in some situations. Though not all police are as pedantic are this, thankfully. :)

I've had both good and bad, but mostly good. Been pulled loads of times in my Mk2 Escort way back, and most just apologised and simply said they were checking it was my car and not stolen, etc, etc. The two utter dickheads were both during the day. One in the morning on the way to work giving attitude and telling me there must be something wrong or illegal with the car. I took his number and told him I would be registering a complaint, his partner told him to stop and leave me as it was clear the car was legal and I had broke no laws. The second time the guy was again all aggressive and again failed to find any issue with either the car or my driving. Those 2 give the majority a bad name, and the majority have been spot on with me.

I got pulled for this before, his excuse was not many people do that to a police car and I said have I committed an offence and he said no but me more careful. Made me laugh, just because there in a marked car people are supposed to lay back or fear them. I don't think so.

never actually been pulled since owning the lcr. but my experiences before were mixed.

Funniest thing ever was when a cop followed me for about 3-4 miles while I was in my LCR and my uncle was with me, when I got round this corner my uncle told me to pull over and then jumped out and flagged the cop down he sent them to speak to a nuisance neighbour for there trouble's hahaha
