As above been out today looking over my cupra t. I was told by my friend when I bought it that one of the hoses is split. Upon checking today it's not a split it's a big hole in it. I can't put a pic up of it as I'm not by my computer. It's towards the bulk head and comes of some valve type and its got a 90 degree bend in it. near the dump valve.

give us a clue...

You see to the right of your dump valve there is like a valve or something with a couple of pipes going to it . The bigger one coming off that looks like it runs across the bulkhead that's the one on mine with a hole in it.

Cheers people. The cars doing my head in lol it runs and ticks over fine and goes like stink but I'm finding all sorts of pipes here and there some are blanked off others ain't . And when I put my hand over the end of the ones that ain't there sucking in air surely they have to go somewhere. Got photos on my phone but can't get them on here at the moment.

Jesus that's all over the show!

Firstly the hose sucking in loads of air is the SAI (secondary air intake) which sucks in air on a cold start to warm the CAT up, I've got a filter on the end of mine but some (Lee69) have run it with no filter for ages without issue.

Where is your DV? It should go into the blue hose in the picture in the port that is blocked off. The large hose nearby that is also plugged up attaches to the other side of your DV and the small hose you are holding plugs in at the top of the DV.

I'll post a pic of my bay in a sec...

i know tell me about it . in the pic the pipe im holding isnt blanked off and is just sucking in air. the dump valve is to the left of the blanked off one on the blue pipe. its my first cupra and dont know nothing about them but to me this look well wrong and i reckon i could be losing a lot of power. or reckon it could do some damage. will get a filter for the other pipe then at the front of the engine.

see in the pic at the top what halsall put on here just below his dump valve there are two pipes that go into one where does that go cause on mine that goes into the dump valve.

That's not your dump valve mate, I've got that little disc thing as well as my DV. From what I can see you haven't got a DV.... Your DV should be a bit taller than that.

there is a standard dump valve in the boot. i just assumed the fella had changed it for something else. will get that put on tomorrow and see how things go. do you think i would be losing power like this.

The small blue hose goes into my DV, if you look above it on the photo you can see what you think is your DV (which it isn't). The thick blue pipe is just a replacement and goes from 2 into 1 an into the flat 'valve'

I dunno lol. Yeah I'd put the DV back on, make sure it's all clamped up tight so there are no leaks. If you can (tomorrow maybe) take a pic of your whole bay. You need a DV as it diverts air back through the intake to prevent the turbo stalling.

Ok thanks for that it all makes sense now. Why on earth would you take the dump valve off. They will be going straight back on tomorrow.

Thanks again that's right helped me out.
