spluttering

hello everyone i have just signed up today, i was told that its a good place to get ideas for your car so i thought i will give it a go, when i put me foot down me car starts to splutter about 3-4000 rpm and the engine management light flashes a couple of times then goes off, i have change the pluges oil and fuel filters, help please its really annoying

Check your coilpacks, i'd bet anything its one thats gone. You got breakdown cover?

alright it is a cupra 180, with 65 thousand miles on a 2001. thanx for the replys it was a real help, it was the 3 rd coil pack that pack in, and now its running fine
