Sqeaky Clutch

Hi!
Anyone having any problems with their clutch? Mines suddenly starting squeaking quite a bit from a few days ago. Bit concerned when I googled the issue. Anyone got any suggestions? Will be very sad if my new ibiza is already posing mechanical faults.

My clutch pedal makes a squeaky sound but I don't think it's very concerning. That shouldn't be expected on a new car though.

No squeak on mine...... yet.

Mine has quite a few issues now, something i never got on 2 brand new VW Polos back in 2011/12.

It's a shame that new models quality control often takes a while to reach the levels of more mature vehicles in the range. I drove a Toledo in 2013 which was rattly and rode awfully, my 2014 had a much better ride but quite a few squeaks and rattles, but the MY18 I have now is actually fault-free so far (touch wood).

Make a list of faults and take it to the dealer. They only have 3 chances to fix a fault before you can escalate - even to rejecting the car if need be.

Rang my dealer, it’s all under warranty as expected. And no it shouldn’t sqeak.

Unfortunately mine has developed a squeak as of yesterday. Someone mentioned to me that it may be due to the cold weather but it was 9 degrees when I left work and it still happened. Seems to improve during the course of the journey and be almost resolved when I get home (30 minute drive). If it keeps happening for the next few days I'll have to speak to the dealer, but I didn't want to be taking it in this early in it's life!

Hi, did you manage to take it to the dealer? If so, what did they tell you?

Mine seems to be getting worse and the sound louder.

I’ve got the squeaky clutch in mine now too

I’ve sprayed some lithium grease on it and will see what it’s like tomorrow.

Fixed the squeak on mine, it’s the plastic joint at the top of the pedal. Sprayed it all over with 3 in 1 silicone lubricant. Now it’s silent and the pedal is also much smoother. It must have been unlubricated from the factory.

Just to let everyone know, I never decided to take my car to get the sqeaky cluth fixed. The reason for this is it hasn’t actually made a single sqeak since mid-April. Might of been the cold weather. Either way, problem fixed!
