Squeeking noise

Hi all Im new to this site and I own a leon mk1 cupra. Just after some help, My car has recently been making a squeeking noise at mainly low speeds and when coming to a stop. It is annoying the hell out of me has anyone else experienced the same?

Any help much appreciated.

I've just got my mk1 cupra r so might not be much help but this sounds vaguely similar to something I noticed. When you say squeaking noise, is it like a medium-pitched whining sound on top of the engine noise? Does it go away if you put the clutch in?

Was going to post about this tonight so if it's the same thing then might kill two birds with one stone.

yeah mine does the same, on my one though its the b4stard brakes. i have a Cupra R 225 for almost 3 years now and ive never not had squeaky brakes on it.

They squeak slightly sometimes when going forward slowly, and when i reverse it sounds like my cars making a whale song.

Nothing the dealers can do about it, trust me, its been back so many times and each time they take them off, clean out all the crap, put them back on....no more than a a week or two later they're back to their screaming habits.

Thanks both for your replies. It is a strange noise almost like a squeeky fan??? my engine management light came on the other day and run it through a diognostics today and the mechanic seemed to think that it may have something to do with a fan on a water pump??? again way over my head! .
When you say about the clutch if i dip it a few times the noise sounds louder. My car is due a service and also will probably need the timing belt and water pump done to be fair so im hoping that may sort it.

Ahh yes of course, the standard water pump uses a plastic fan which is very well known to, and common to break. The replacement ones, or the only ones that are now available have a metal fan. These only cost about £30. Worth doing if never done before, just so you know its not going to break....but yeah, could well be the bearings on the water pump if its still the orignal plastic fan.

If its not the bearings then it could be a sign that its on its way out and not spinning properly. This of course can lead to overheating.

Thanks for this I think its clear in my head now, Car hasnt had timing belt change in its history so I think im going to book in to get it done. Cant bear to hear this noise anymore doing my head in. Thanks agin for your reply.
