alright. got a 2000 1.9tdi alhambra. will not start, been stuck in my drive for months. tried various things. cleaned injectors, new fuel filter, checked in tank and fuel lines for probs, all appears ok. had the dash, ecu and key checked, came back good. fuel pump delivering fuel to injectors, not sure if it required amount 4/6bar? got new relay and glow plugs, pulling my hair out now. also had it on computer and theres no dtcs stored. car will run with easy start with a bit of patience. any help appreciated!

Hi. I have a friend who's Alhambra broke down whilst on a trip to Sweden, It was towed back to the UK with him having been told that it was a broken timing belt by two breakdown repairmen. Turns out that it was not a broken timing belt but was only a diesel pump solonoid, It would turn over OK , had diesel pressure at the injectors and ran for short while before it shut itself back down. Might be worth a look at the solonoid.

Will check it out tmoro. Is there a way to bypass the solenoid to test it? I know on some older diesel pumps you can. Don't fancy buyin a new pump to find out it's not the cause. Thanks.

Yes solenoid may be a good thing to check.
But when I bought my car the garage insisted on servicing it (I didnt want them to LOL),it was reluctant to start - especially if facing uphill (even on a very slight incline)
So I fitted a genuine vw fuel filter and replaced the 'O' ring seal(s),car has been fine since...I suspect that the garage did not replace the 'O' rings, but maybe a non vw fuel filter didnt help either (it had been fitted with a Cooper).
