Starting to Mod my Ibiza! :)

Hey people! I'm kind of new to the forum. I know my nicknames bit boring, but awell haha... Only thing I can think off... Anyways I been on this site a few times and well... Thought its about time I joined! Since I myself own a Seat car ^^

Back to my topic! I was just wondering if you guys could offer me some advice and help me out on some mod infos on my Ibiza...

I got a ''Black 56 1.4 Ibiza DAB'' and well I had it now for just under a year and a half and fancy doing some stuff to it...

Since the car has still got just under 2 years of warranty left I can't really do much mods which effect the engine so I believed I'll just start and make my car look stylish and nice see...

I already got a new full stainless steel oval exhaust from LongLife recently and thats where the problem starts... I been looking around on this site and have seen some very nice Ibizas with Tinted Windows and I would really like to have that on my car front and back, but I just don't know what % to have them as...

I been reading threads and notice the front tend to be lighter than the back etc and well was just wondering what kind off % would you recommend me have? I want something which looks nice and stylish, but not looking to much like a boy racer...

I also bought a LCR Splitter for my Ibiza, but I must say I have no idea how to put it on... I bookmarked the tutorials on this site and read them dozens of times, but it just seems very complicated to put on... Was thinking... Should I just leave it sitting in my room or go to a bodywork garage and ask them to put it on for me thats if its not going to be costly...

The other thing is well... Is speakers! I was kind of gutted that the DAB only had 4 speakers at the front and nothing at the back... I suppose filling in those speaker slots would be nice, but what speakers would you recommend? At the moment the speakers I got now I think are really good in quality in my own opinion...

Sorry for the lengthy post, but I believe this is the right place to ask for help and really would like some help on tints and fitting a LCR Splitter on to a standard Ibiza bumper... Advice on what speakers I should get would be nice to.

Another thing is well... Me being young driver at 17 when I passed and having a new car... I must say I was a bad at driving... Never treated my car well... Ragged it around... I wish I never done that now... I've now got little bumper scruffs from reversing in my garage drunk and slight scratches and dents which to be honest ashamed off especially on such a beautiful car... I would really like to get my little scratches and slight dents touched up and fixed for summer asap...

I'm from South Wales near Caerphilly/Cardiff area so suggestions on some good Bodywork Garages which isn't over priced would be helpful!

By the way... I kind of new to car modding and I am learning loads since visiting this site... I want to mod, yet again I don't want my car to look like some chavvy kids car who hangs around the Tesco or Mcdonalds car park with ridiculous looking cars... So Advice and Help would be appreciated very much!

By law you have to allow 70% natural daylight through the front windows. So the maximum tint you can have is 30% on the front. You can have it as black as you like on the back. I'd personally go for like a 5% film on the front windows (looks like a clear film but does darken the windows subtely). Then I'd go for a 30% tint on the back - this'll darken it nicely without going ott.

Can't help you here bud. I bought one - attempted to fit it - made a right mess. It's now in my garage.

But mine was bent I think - seemed to bow the wrong way...

Haha! I know what you mean... Looking at some of the tutorials on here by Guiness and a little diagram of Rash's Cupra... They make it look like its so easy to do, but infact its such a pain!

The splitter isnt to bad to do, just take your time. If you are doining it on your own then use masking tape to get the spoiler centered, I then used self tappers at each end (near the wheel arch) and kept checking.

Either jack the car up or use ramps too. makes it easier then you should end up with this, or similar:

All I can do is think back to my days with the TT and the V6 under the bonnet, that also didnt have sound proofing.

It was on special offer, and needed to get money back from the TT. So needed to trade it in. In hindsight should have got a deisel either new 100BHP or a 2nd hand 130BHP version. but st happens.

Quite glad at he moment with the price of fuel .

That looks really nice!! To be honest though... I really can't trust my self to drill holes into my bumper... Would be to scared I'll mess it up like... Its looks soo nice though...


Oh yeah... This is what my new exhaust looks like before and now ^^ I reckon it looks soooo much better than the old thin one... And it sounds great! Mid to mild sport tone its got... Hope you guys like it!

Exhaust looks good. It annoyed me also how my car was a 'Sport' and didn't have a visible decent looking exhaust when crappy French cars and the likes do.

I know what you mean mate, ive got a '56 dab and i dont have the rear speakers either, im thinking about buying two sets of jbl 607c component speakers for mine.
A few people on here have them, think there great and you can get them for about £40 on ebay opposed to £100 on the high street.

The only thing im worried about is that there is no wiring in place at the back although there are spaces for speakers and tweeters.

If any one has installed the rear speakers in the dab is it easy?

When I bought mine it only just came out on special offer for summer, but few months later they released a newer DAB version with the 6 speakers and other stuff... Was really gutting!

Thats why i changed mine... You have a nice fat rear end and on the bottom left is a big cut out hole with a pea shooter sticking out... Like what the hell is that!? But ye I'm happy with the change... Cost me £279 from LongLife which I though was worth it for looks and sound ^^

I got a list of what I plan to do to my car now before summer if possible... Was having a think today!

Plan to get a lowered... Was thinking of getting ''FK High-Sport Coilover Kits '' but don't know if they worth the money...

The tints I really want to do, but like I mentioned earlier... I still want a few advice on what % would be suitable and look really nice and not OTT boy racer style... Someone recommended me to use this guy and was told he is very very good and he uses film tints... Is film any good at all? and what is the difference?

Planning to get my paintwork corrected like clay bared, buffed up and wax etc so its like new again! Haha!!

Speakers is something still floating around in my head...

That splitter needs to be on my bumper!

and thats about it really for looks... Will cost quite a bit, but as long as my car is nice and I'm happy... Its worth every penny!

By the way any members of the board from South Wales? I bought my car from a Garage in Cardiff and I must say the service there is not the best... I want to get my engine serviced asap and I was just wondering if any local board members know any good garages I can go to and do a top notch service on my engine?

i just got my windows tinted last week, but have no pics on my pc to upload yet, will sort that out tomorrow and post them in here! I got 20% in the back and 50% on the front windows.. slightly illegal but i've been told that the police tend to let that go so went for it! Looks excellent in my opinion! I also had a sunstrip at the same time to fill the gap between the rear view mirror and the tpo of the windscreen but it looked awful so i took it off asap!

20% and 50% is the amount of light transmission btw! will post pics tomorrow
