Hi Guys

Driving a Seat Altea XL 1.6 Petrol 2007

I am TRYING to get my dam amber steering assist light off after disconnecting the battery

Following these instructions here:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1K)_Steering_Assist
(i know its for a Golf, but the link for the Altea 5P0 takes me there)

I am not having much luck. There is a bit which says:

If the 02546 - Steering Limit Stop 005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation fault will not clear after driving the vehicle and completing the VW Golf (1K) Steering Assist procedure, increase the time in-between key cycles to 30 seconds or more.

Can anyone tell me what they mean by or how to increase the time in-between key cycles to 30 seconds or more.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

also when it says

"Drive in a short distance straight line on a level surface at a speed not higher than 20 km/h. "

how far are we talking here, a few feet, 10M, 50M 100M ???

Sorry for the silly questions

Hey tow

Thanks for your reply

I guess you are talking about entering

CODING-II - 11
password 40168
do it
basic settings
060
go
activate basic setting by pressing on/off/next

it then says after a successful basic setting field 1 should say 'ok'

Do i have to do anything after press the on/off/next button or wait a while as mine says

'Not Possible'

I think (battery is flat on lappy at the mo and trying to find a charger in work, i did take a screen shot but cannot access it at the mo

Cheers
