hi all,

been having a slight problem with the steering on my car (curpa tdi) whenever its been left over night or in carpark at work, the steering feels really heavy to turn, like its sticking or something. It does loosen up and goes back to normal after iv turned the wheel a few times.

any ideas what it might be??

ok ill have a word with me mate. its only like it when its been left a while though, doing my head in. it used to do it before (5-6months ago) but then it just stopped

Mine has just started doing this too, I reckon its the battery as it has only started as the weather is starting to get colder and batteries get worse the colder they get. The other things that make me think its the battery is that if I rev the engine to just under 2000rpm for about 10secs before going anywhere it sorts itself out and also the headlights dim when I am going from lock to lock while parking.

I keep meaning to go get my battery drop tested but havent got round to it yet.

it is the battery. i had a word with my mate and he said to give it some boost and it sorted it out straight away

Did you gate your battery tested? If its discharging when the car is left a while then its probably on its way out and will only get worse as the weather gets colder. The last thing you need is to be stranded in the middle of nowhere in -5 temps this winter.
