Steering wheel fading

Evening all

My black leather steering wheel on my LCR 225 has faded red on the perforated leather sides. Without buying a new one (and bankrupting myself) is it possible to re-dye or get somewhere to make it look new again?

I know this is a common LCR problem, but can't find much info on it

I was thinking about trying black boot polish but hopefully someone has a better sugestion

I have seen leather seats sprayed before on a few occasions, i'm not sure what they use but it can be done, as far as i'm aware though its crap lol
