Stereo Model???

I have recently bought a Leon 1.9 TDI Sport with the added extras which was 1 of the offers for last quarter. I enquired about the possibility of an ipod lead which they will charge £199.99 for the pleasure and privelage of supplying and fitting.
So I thought I will try and source a lead myself and my mate can fit it as he does stereos all day everyday.

Problem is I do not know the make/model of my stereo as there are no markings on it or in the audio guide that came with it.
Does anyone know these please as all the dealer would tell me is they will put one in for £200 but not tell me any more info as "they didn't know themselves". :help:

199 is a bit steep !

on the seat website it quotes £99
link

this is for the ice link cable which you can store in the glovebox or armrest (if you have one) rather than the 'factory fitted' version which goes under the seat.

I dont think there is any difference in the functions other except you dont have to grovel under the seat with the cable version!

It seems if I had ordered it at the time I ordered the car it would be £99 as it is factory fitted but now it's the dealer they like to double the price!!!

Thanks for the links guys.

mine was fitted and thrown in as part of the deal when buying my car as an ex-demonstrator. the sales guy said it was "worth £140" with £99 for the link and the rest for fitting. this was at spur garage in wimbledon.

Ive noticed recently that halfrauds also do ice-link installations so might be worth a look.

Hi All

Sorry to be a bit thick on this, but what's the difference between the "iceLink" thing & the audio inline aux socket you can get on e-bay for £10

ice link will charge your ipod and allow control from the steering wheel/radio controls and give better sound quality.

Nicka56.

Many thanks for that info. What sort of cost is this iceLink then. Does it also display the iPod tracks onto your Radio screen?????
