Stereo quality on aftermarket HU

I recently sold my bora sport and took a Sony Xplode HU out as it sounded really good for standard speakers. Put this in my Cupra TDI and it sounds worse than standard? All the speakers are working and the clarity is ok but the bass has gone. Put the oe back in and it sounds 10x better.
All I can see is a double wire on one of the iso connecters that isn't used and another that has 9v going towards the HU?

Is there an external amp or anyone else experienced this?
The Sony has an output of 54x4 so is more powerful that the 40x4 standard one but sounds terrible.

Bora's actually have really good speakers as standard, much better than Ibiza ones so it will sound worse n the Cupra.

You'll need to upgrade your speakers if you cant tweek the sounds setting to make it sound better

Yeah I know they do but can't understand why the OE sounds better when people on here say changing the HU is the best way for better sound.

I had a Sony in mine and was close to changing the front speakers but, I've bought a jvc headunit and it now sounds alot better. I know someone who's upgraded all the speakers in his car to to sony but somehow mine still sounds better
