Evening All,

With reference to my previous post I have a knocking noise coming from the front of the car after fittin my new coilovers! I have fitted new topmounts and bearings and I have greased the spring seats on the coilovers!!!
It happens when either stationary or slowly moving, steering at the same time!!!
What you guys reckon ball joints, bushes anti roll bar???:(

i had this problem i had the seats and top mounts greased and it is alot better know still a little bit tho. but if you have already done that i dont know what it is.

I get this exact same problem as well!!

I've got my car booked in to be checked out and they suggested maybe the cv joint? However it only started happening after I had my suspension fitted so I think its more likely to be something to do with that rather that the cv

Yep only when turning!!! No noises when going fast even hard round roundabouts!!! Its when I'm goin slow or stationary!!!

just a little off topic, i just fitted a seat sport strut brace, and put new bolts into the top mounts, but i overtightened a couple and they have "rung i think, feels like they're are just twizzling in rubber, question is - can i put some nuts on the bottom of the bolts to tighten them up or is it new top mount time AGAIN!

yep exact same thing!! If I find out on Weds I'll let you know lol :) To me it sounds like somethings slightly coming out of place and maybe moving back into place

Cool that would be a great help, the noise is really winding me up, it does sound like something is relocating itself!!!

Also Bill could you give me a price on some spacers for the rear cos the rear end loves to come out now!!!

I'd buy some new topmounts, but i spose you could put nuts on the end, however it would be very awkward to get tight and you would need longer bolts, bit of a bodge in my book!!!:(

right then....seems like its the steering arms and ball joints. my car wasnt tracked when the suspension was fitted and it was all over the place and it looks like its caused them both to wear excessively on my drive home...

So have you tested it? no more noise? are these ball joints and steering arms expensive? sorry bout all the questions cheers for postin back much appreciated!!!:)

havent had it done yet :p

um well i phoned my local seat garage and they said £62 for the arm and £25 for the ball joint but im sure you could get them cheaper.....

So they defo reckon its that!! I can't think it can be anything else apart from anti roll bar mounts!!! I suppose we both have dropped them a far amount and I did drive it a few times after i lowered it and the guys at the tyre centre when doing the trackin and camber said it was loads out as well!!
You going to fit them yourself?:)

thats what i was going to ask....after you fitted the kit did you drive around for quite a while without your tracking being done?

no i'm going to get storm developments to do it I think, might have them do a few other things at the same time ;)

No not really only drove it a few times!! but camber and tracking was way out!!! can't think its anything else with the actual suspension cos theres not really a lot to it!!
What else you got planned for andy to do at storm?:)

i drove from peterborough to reading, had my tracking done by some bodge artist, drove to bristol got it done properly!! and it was knocking every since lol jabba said maybe the people that tracked it did something to it but I dont know.

Well there's a few things I want like brakes, laguna cooler, tip and he's stolen my jack point cover :p
