Strange noise since opening air box up...

When I did the service last week I modified the bottom of the airbox out a bit using a dremel on the front facing section to help the car breathe better... since doing that my passengers have noted a 'woooo-ing' noise as they put it when I'm moving...

Anyone know if this is normal and just the result of modifying the airbox?

Cant hear nowt from the drivers seat and with it being passenger side where the turbo is I'm wondering if they can just about hear the tubby audibly now due to opening the airbox?

Not too concerned as no engine codes and drives spot on ... :)

Most probably the cuts you made. why did you do the front face?
Much more chance of water getting in there from splashing through puddles than where everyone else does it on the bottom

Aslong as you did it on the bottom side of the airbox it shouldnt cause any problems. Sounds to me as thought its just a result of having modded the airbox. Its a nice noise, with an induction kit its even louder!

Of course... I couldnt see point of drilling out the bottom of the airbox when it bolts to the bodywork... ;) - hence dremeled the area out next to the snorkel as more likely to get air in there and I honestly think there is very little chance of water getting in either...

It does feel great though :)

GREEN filter and uprated ARB next when get paid :D
