Stupid Sidelights - Advice needed

I got some free philips bluevision sidelights from powerbulbs when I got my indicators delivered the other day.

Indicators fitted no probs, however these sidelights are a joke, the fitment to change the bulbs actually doesn't remove like it should as described in the manual..

I have "expertly" circled the area in the above picture, please please could someone tell me how on earth to remove the bugger so I can change the bulbs. It just won't budge

i use long nose pliers

just pull it, i got mine out by hand, but was real tight.

Right, my next day off - Sunday, it's going to get ripped out if that's what it takes.
