Don't mean to throw a proverbial spanner in the works!
But, I've been having this problem since I bought the car a year ago and I don't think it will go away. I have N75J valve, DV007P diverter valve and have tried a new MAF and nothings changed!! Haven't changed coil packs but it sounds like some of you guys have and it made no difference.

I think it's just a 'personality feature' of the Leon Cupra!! I've learned to live with it!

With a cold engine..

Open bonnet, open drivers side door, turn ignition on fully (do not Start), listen for beep noise under bonnet, after about 1 min it will stop. Close bonnet, get in car, close door, start car, wait 20sec then drive off. Job done :D

Splendid - seems to have fixed my problem :D

Just angry that it's come after driving with it out of kilter for several years and ordering a new car...

mine does the same sometimes, feels quite weird, its as if your building up a small ammount of speed in maybe 1st or 2nd and all of a sudden its about to cut out. But it doesn't, it has not prompted me to take it back to the stealer but if it continues then Im gonna have to take it back.. Although it happens, its not all the time

My car idles roughly, and sounds like a misfire every now and then.
Dealer has changed:

coolant sensor
MAF
Throttle body cleaned
I have also done the realignment thingy. it still does it, although not all the time. I now have a Carbonio CAI fitted and it still does it, although definately not as bad as it used to. I think its probably a coil pack, if not then possibly lambda sensor thingy (o2 i think) or just a characteristic of the car. My old vauxhall did it too!

are you guys whacking on the air con and heated windows/mirrors and stereo equipment when cold?i find if i can drive off without this on for a few mins that it gets warm i don't get it.
,not done the throttle body alignment yet but its on the cards, car actually stalled the other day and it actually failed to start first time, for the first time.just want to try all avenues before replacing coolant temp sensor.no warranty unfortunatley :(

When i start up - i dont go mad - i let it warm up to 90 before using excessive turbo :p
I dont use stereo as i dont have one (custom ice going in)
I dont use air con (this time of yr)
I use heaters but only to demist windows

Still does it. Probably is normal. totally up to you really. Mine doesnt stall now, it runs fine really, other than a lumpy idle.

Mine is still stuttering sometimes as if it loses power. Its had a new MAF, fitted a new DV and its still doing it. I've tried the throttle body calibration and its not fixed it, though when I had my MGF you also had to press the accelerator three times. I'd have thought that our DBW and Electronic Throttle Pedal (EPC) would need that calibrating too?

So I'm thinking it could now be the coil packs and the ECU retarding the ignition. I've taken the engine cover off and tried to get a coil pack off but can't, is there a special technique??

Has anyone had this problem fixed as its potentially dangerous, mine lost power temporarily when pulling out of a junction. I just want it fixed!

Cheers

Well - our problem is now back with a vengence :thumbd:

4 weeks until the new car comes and the Leon is now undriveable - it is 100% dangerous.

No power pulling away from junctions or roundabouts. The car is a complete deathtrap, which is kind of upsetting in a car which is less than 4 years old (my 15 year old CRX which has spent a lot of time on the track is more reliable).

It's going in to the dealer this week - let's hope they can sort it out once and for all.

I'm not convinced the new Golf is going to be any better and really wish I had ordered a Japanese car as a replcaement.

yep, i have the same problem too. although i dont have it to the point where the car is dangerous (at least not yet).

i have fitted a forge DV, and still have the same problem. i was going to take it to an independant VAG specialist to get it looked at - my local dealers probably wouldnt know how to solve it anyway (or tell me that it runs fine).

i'll post again when i have spoken to the VAG specialist.

Just changed the plugs on mine, no better or worse than before. My car only does this every now and again - it seems to be when the outside temp is around 7 - 10 Degrees (but sometimes its OK at those temps).

I ordered a ne N75 type J valve last weekend, going to fit it tomorrow. Its now going to be my last and best hope. Fingers crossed!

I'm now pretty sure its not the ignition as you don't get any probs at high revs where you would expect more of an issue. I still think its going to be a sensor or valve misbehaving, though I'm running out of parts to change.

Got the car back from the dealer and it's now sweet as a nut

Apparently they cleared some fault codes and reset the ECU and all is now 100%. I'm not sure I understand but as long it's 100% and hasn't needed any new parts then I'm happy.

FYI - mine did the stuttering when cold to such a point it was about to cut-out......see all the threads re Coilpacks. Got mine changed under the Seat warranty (found out Seat extended the warranty to 5 years) and it now drives like a dream. Spark plugs were also changed, but to be fair, car was stuttering in all gears (even at about 70 in 5th - 80 in 6th).

Hope this helps
