i had a 500 abarth but can't have been the ss as i was pulling away from him

However about 2 days later an old peugeot 205gti was next to me, and i could not pull away from him until 3rd gear, i was very suprised... but then thats a 1.9 wrapped in tin foil with a 0-100 of 22s lol

weight lets these cars down mate:( 1300kg is pretty heavy imo, fast but heavy, but once the engine goes it can go quick, unless its a skyline or the like:)(nice motors).

Quick look on a Fiat forum says 0-60 for the SS is 7.4, I'd be very worried if you struggled that much against him, it won't be night and day difference but it should have been obvious which car was the more potent, even if he got the drop on you I'd expect you to reel him in, maybe your car isn't making the figures your signature suggests.

Could possibly be down to the driver though

Just a thought but maybe the car wasn't oem/standard

Did that thought wake you up fella? 3am! Lol

So many cars seem to be remapped nowadays so it wouldn't be a surprise, not sure what the tuning world is like for fiat though.

Exactly :) Also, get stage 2 (+250bhp ish) and you will be fine ;) Also keep the weight of your car down (ditch heavy sub, spare tire, big replica rims, etc).

[Edit]
add short shift

I had a race with an SS cup car at a track event at work and I proper spanked its ass , and when we pulled up and parked up after, he came up to me and said " fook me your Leon is fast, I was giving my car all it had " lol turns out it was a bonafide race Abarth Cup racer with 190hp and the switchable ECU turned up to its highest setting!
Made me chuckle he had spent 16K on it lol got blown away by 3.5k's worth of LCR!!!

That's what's so funny!
Leon is still a great looking car too.
My yellow one has 223bhp and only stands me £1500 all in. Scares the crap out of most things!
Wait till I put a 1.6 badge on it!
