to do the fronts.....
jack car up, put on axle stands, both sides.
no need to remove discs etc, just be careful.
remove the bolt that goes through the wheel bearing housing, holds the bottom of the strut in.
place a cold chisel into the split where the bolt came from and give it a nice tap. this should open the bearing housing.
open bonnet, pull of strut top cover, you now need to remove the bolt you can see.
place suitable allen key into the bolt, you will need to use them spanners that bend downwards to grip the nut. 20mm i think.
while holding the allen key unscrew the nut. hard work this bit, fiddly...
this will relase the top mount from the car.
with a bit of luck the strut should now come out.. on the passenger side you will need to remove the anti roll bar droplink, to allow the frame to drop slightly to release the strut.
persuade it to come out with your mallet.
mark the bottom of the strut so you can see if it is coming out...
once youve got them out, believe me its hard, then the whole suspension unit should drop out.
be careful to undo the abs sensor from the strut before you start whacking it.
once the suspension is out then its basically the reverse to put back in.#
dont forget to compress the springs on the new setup, and put all the mounts, bearings back in before you replace on the car.
once new setup ready, push through the hole where the strut top goes and put back in bottom shock mount, remove the chisel and rebolt back up.
you may need to jack the car up upder the axle to lift the suspension up back through the top hole.
reconnect the top mount in the same way you undid....
connect all wires back up.
bolts back in...
drop the jack under the arm
reconnect anti roll bar link
and hey presto you should be there.
driver side the same but should drop enough without undoing the arb link.
if it doesnt then undo it.
rears... piece of piss
jack up, axle stands etc
undo bolts where shock is connected at the bottom, do both sides first
place jack under the rear arm to support and compress the springs.
undo the top strut mounts both sides
slowly release the jack, steer clearof the springs, they should drop out.
jobs a goodun
youll need the top mounts for the rears, so unscrew like the front mount and reconnect to your new setup.
reconnect your new strut as reverse of removal.
connect all bolts, place the springs in the seats.
let the jack down and hey presto.........
you may need to compress the new springs to get them in the seats at the back.
uuuugh.
