Depending on how far you want to lower it, the Weitec and KW kits are both good choices.

can the LCR's be lowered with just springs? or is it not recomended?

With them having the uprated shocks as standard you can do but it's always best to get matched springs and shocks. A lot of people do just go for the H&R springs thoughwhich are deigned to be used with the standard shocks...

i can see those HR springs are just 20mm drop? i was under the impression this wouldnt make much difference in looks on the LCR? I was told you have to go for around 40mm

They're specific for the LCR so they'll actually give you a 20mm drop.
