Looking at reducing temps in any form is a great help on these cars and I've just bought one of these Newsouth intake manifolds for the LCR to see if it helps reduce the idling temps and traffic driving conditions.

http://www.awesomegti.com/car/seat/leon1m/newsouth-1-8t-power-gasket-plus-1999-5

Been meaning to get one for a while and I thought I might aswell go all out now and just get these mods done which are sitting on my mind.

Gotta keep pushing on with the project now, plenty more to come in the next few months :D

good purchase tom. these work very well. badger 5 does his own and its a lot thicker, i run b5 one. not saying its better.

There is a big difference between the 2 products.

http://www.034motorsport.com/engine-components-18t-intake-manifold-spacer-18t-phenolic-p-764.html

one is about 10mm thick, and from the photo the neuspeed one would be about 5mm thick if that???

I'll measure it when it arrives... I think you'll agree it's hard to judge mm differences from a picture ;)

Either way it's better than no gasket. I have always got on well with Awesome so it was a no brainer :D

I don't mean to hijack your RR Tom, but I've always wondered what the LCR (BAM) port was..large or small?

Small port for these mate :)

Going to measure it when it turns up :) Better than no gasket as I've said :D

I have a badger one on my car, its really thick and spaces the mani out a bit. Mani is always warm to touch rather than being scorching!

Yeah the B5 one is thicker but I'm more than happy with mine. It's going to be better than no gasket at least :)

VW Bora aero wipers

So I went round to D.K's today and we got the VW Bora aero wipers on. Albeit just about in Darren's case! His old wiper arms just did not want to come off the car but I can safely say with some force all went to plan in the end :D

Popped to Halfords on the way round and grabbed some gloss black paint in a rattlecan ready to refurb the Bora wiper arms as they were in need of a clean and a fresh coat to bring them back to standard.

My car proved to be easier which is the opposite of what we thought was going to happen, so they came off after a good WD40 and some again some force..

The passenger blade is slightly too long with these so it was cut down on both mine and Darren's to fit snug. The blades themselves still have a good bit of life in them but when the time comes to replace them a set is about £30 for the blades, but we may look to replace them individually as the passenger one is now a unique length!

Now for some pics...(I also took a few of the car this morning when it was wet and beading all nicely, lol..
