What is it?

As I text you earlier mate, EP3 Civic Type R aerial :)

Comparison with old v new

Old - excuse the filthy car! This is why she needs a proper detail. Dirty water collecting on the roof :(

Radio reception is perfect but I never really use that usually stick to my ipod for my music. So that went well...

..However, what didn't got so well was the fact that I seem to have discovered an issue with my rear LED lights :( I thought I had an indicator go, but it is in fact a dodgey cable running to the passenger rear indicator attached to the LED unit. Put a new bulb in and it still wasn't working. I thought it may be a fuse, but the front indicator on passenger side works fine, so that rules out a fuse as a whole side normally goes when a fuse dies.

When you move the cable slightly attached to the LED unit, the indicator would intermittently come back on and off. So it's shot :(

I'll be writing to the seller off ebay shortly. :censored:

Might just stick the old lights in and be done with those and spend the money elsewhere. I've got detailing gear to buy and my insurance is creeping up soon so I want to get those done and dusted really.

You give up far to easy can tell your a office bum boy lol fix it or get them to send you another set out

For the money they should be perfect. There's a couple of marks on them I wasn't 100% happy with either.

It's not giving up it's not being arsed with it. Gona message them now see what they say anyway go from there.

Not much to report really as insurance is coming up so I'm holding off buying things which is a pain if I'm honest.

Today's weather was the best it's been in ages so I decided to clean the car inside and out. Also managed to get a couple of silvervision bulbs on my way to the gym for my LED lights which gets rid of the fried egg look. Still trying to get a new rear left one from the seller off ebay as I'm not 100% happy with this unit. So I haven't got the resistors fitted to the units as yet to stop the glowing middle brake light when the lights are on. Think I'll be getting some lamin x to darken the lights down a bit but will do this when sort the issue out with the rear left one with the seller.

Was good to get some winter crap off the car, arches, door seals and a good hoover all got done. Looking forward to more warmer drier weather so really get stuck into it. Need to spend at least a day on the engine bay to get it near what it was :( Hopefully when that happens I'll have a few extra bits to fit in the bay too.

Tom your ride has certainly progressed a touch since I've been away, looking good mate. Not sure I'd choose your wheels, but it's all personal preference and I like that you've done something different but still kept the original look! Massive fan of your seats and very interested in your diff! I've a feeling my gearbox might be on it's way out - if you don't mind me asking, how much was the diff as if I'm going to have to have work done in that area then I'm wondering if it's worth getting one fitted while she's in bits anyway! I've seen you giving it rave reviews so I presume you would say it's worth the money?

Have you got much more planned for your motor? Where's left to go other then big tubby? Looks like you've covered pretty much all the other bases!

Cheers Ben :) Trying to crack on once the insurance is sorted at the end of this month and pretty much finish it by the end of the summer. I won't be going big turbo on the car. No point for me it's fun enough and the torque still keeps me well on my toes! BT setups can be epic, my favourite being James L's. He's done it properly and not bodged any of it on a budget setup which is how it should be IMO. I know how much it set him back and I don't have that to spend now on this car. I will be keeping it as a big spec stage 2 car which keeps me very happy for a while yet.

The Wavetrac LSD is an awesome bit of kit, I've only had a few moments so far where I've felt it work hard and one was where I deliberately launched the car about a bit on a wet road - yes it was a big wide open road and quite safe to but I wanted to feel the diff working and it pulled the car back in line it was a strange moment! Getting used to it now though and you can't tell it's there around town but launch it a bit in 1st and the grip difference from before is massive, it just puts it down and eats the road which I wanted.
They are over £1000 new. AmD can supply and fit one for £1300. I got mine already fitted to another gearbox for £750 so bought the Awesome gti heavy duty smf clutch kit at the same time for £600 and then just paid labour which I got mates rates on at a local garage :) So glad I got it all done and in one hit. It sounds a lot of money but I saved by doing it that way. Worth sticking a diff in there if you're going to have the box out for a clutch replacement IMO. If you like pushing the car every so often or have track in mind do it.

The R32 seats are the nuts. Very supportive and they look really sexy, lol :p Massive improvement over standard one's and worth the expense. The wheels might stay as they are but I do keep looking... So you never know what may happen around the corner.. Loads to do first though. Smaller stuff plus a FULL service soonish, new rear pads/discs and a few more bits the list goes on and on mate it's annoying

Ouch that is not cheap!! Will have to keep an eye out for second hand I think lol!

Yeah I think you're probably right to keep it at the level its at to be honest - much more than 300bhp through the front wheels is getting really silly and pointless unless you're going for a track demon!

Know exactly what you mean about the ongoing list of expense.... I'd almost forgotten how much these cars love to eat money!!

Lol.. There was one for sale on the VAG parts for sale page on fb a while ago, a Wavetrac with the bolts needed I think he said he would take £700 for it or £650. Not cheap but really good for the spirited driver :)

Even if I had the cash I don't think I would BT it tbh. Would rather get an Evo with the next bracket of power around 500bhp or a bit more. Seen some on pistonheads.. Lol.

Cupra R's do love to eat the cash sadly, but I really love driving mine now it's fast, makes a lovely noise and handles much better than it did when I got it. Just need to blitz the rest of my 'to do list' after the insurance is paid then I'll be content. I think.............

Yeah running costs are a bit higher but I don't think they're as bad as people make out. The insurance and tax are a fair bit higher I think, boooooo!

Hi mate, thanks for the comments :)

I have 6k HID's with H7R bulbs, and LED sidelights. Lights up the road nicely and looks good! Been very happy with them.
