I wish I could be bothered to polish stuff, the dipstick looks great against the mani mate.

Easy fitting?

The dip stick is a piece of piss to fit, just cut the top off the OE one and trim it to fit inside the metal one, Probee's work on these is 1st class :D

I know a very nice man who polish's metal bit ;)
 
DV service time..

My boost still doesn't quite feel right to me, but one thing I have been meaning to check out and inspect is the trusty old 007p.

It's been on the car around 18/19 months at a guess and not opened in that time.... So I've just got off the phone from Forge and ordered a service kit and also the Yellow spring.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the spring in the car is green!! Which is too weak really for stage 2. The 007p was my 1st mod and went on the car when it was standard.

Forge said both should be here by Weds, so I'll have a go with it all this weekend and check the state of the DV once it's off.

On another note, I'm still waiting for my SFS 3" TIP to arrive, but it could well be here for this weekend aswell, so it would be nice to get both things sorted if possible..

Another thing I'm contemplating doing is getting the Milltek decat pipe in place of the sports cat. Not for performance gain but for noise and effect :whistle: Have contacted AmD already about this and it could happen soon.

Just feel I need to sort this car out a bit! It's not running 100% and I'm not happy unless it is 100%!!!

I'm in the same boat mate, Mafs gone and I reckon I could do with a new N75. Cars in for a service soon so should be all good for AMD. Keep up the good work :D

I have a sneaky suspicion my MAF might be faulty or have gone, could well have done. I'm very sure it's the standard one and I'm on 61k now lol.... See on Darren's thread he thinks they are good for 40k...

Milltek 3" decat pipe on the way..

After sorting the DV stuff out from Forge over the phone today, I decided to tackle something else which has been on my mind, the exhaust.

Nothing wrong with my exhaust other than I want a bit more noise in terms of pops, bangs and maybe more :p

So I got in touch with AmD and they are getting the decat pipe in for it to be fitted Saturday morning :D I will be keeping the sports cat still though once this comes off.

Fingers crossed my 007p service kit and yellow spring turn up aswell as the SFS TIP.... Should transform the car this weekend if it all goes to plan.

Really looking forward to it. Payday will bring new updates but I've yet to make a firm decision on exactly what, but it should be a fairly big update :D
 
t0m you crack me up running a green spring still! :lol: its like an elastic band in there lol you will notice an improvement once thats gone

rest of the plans sound super sexy!

Well I think it is mate....

We'll see when I get it opened up at the weekend. Should be better though once serviced anyway and the new TIP goes on if it's here in time..

yeah mine needs nearly 1k of work to get it through an MOT i love it! bushes and wishbones and roll bars need sorting meh!

ARBs to get you through your MOT? That seems a bit wrong to me?

Can understand if the buses have completely failed but ARB's wouldn't fail I would have thought?
 
My forge dv has been on my car for over 4 years now and I've never serviced it. Didn't know I had to lol. So I take it a mapped LCR should have the yellow spring yes, and if so how do I check???

excessive corrosion im told so changing them out for eibach front and rear
 
R32 front and Neuspeed/whiteline rear, cant go wrong IMO :D

I would mate, but I'm being picky with this front ARB as I have the Eibach 25mm RARB I'm getting the matching front Eibach :p

Holding off until the whole car gets polybushed with superpro bushes at the same time though while the subframe is dropped its easier..
 
I don't think there's anything wrong with it, Tom just can't resist buying something new for the car :p lol. Also regarding MOT, my old Cupra R use to pass before it even got to the garage lol. It had a decat you know so had to use a Citroen saxo to do the exhaust readings ;) But the major things were always checked over on the car

Oh and Tom. Do logs with the B5 TIP and the sfs TIP for a comparison

Remember the B5 tip he has is V1.. and 23% smaller than the existing 80mm V2 TIP which is actually available... ;)
