Correct me if I am wrong but I don't remember Tom saying he is trying to do a full on comparison between TIPs. His one has a fault, it can happen, so has decided to go for the SFS one. All he wants to do is to get the car up and running back to full health!

Liking the plans Tom, Saturday should be a good day mate. Like I said with my DV, never serviced it since it got installed until recently, worth while job which I plan to do more frequently. However I am really looking forward to the decat being fitted and seeing how it changes things :)

I've got a 25mm neuspeed RARB, the R32 matches it really well and its not that expensive. Let me know if you want the part number.

That is what I have and works well!

yours isn't v1 is it? and relax you have a good rolling road results with it :)

Me too! Nothing wrong with the V1 TIP in my opinion!

Tom, good progress as always mate! Out of interest, what are you paying for the decat pipe? Will it result in a bit more noise? That's the only thing that has dissapointed me with the Miltek is that its too quite

Cheers for all the comments guys, Saturday should be good! Hoping the DV kits are here tomorrow and the yellow spring to kick things off... :)

Adam, I've text you mate.

ssshhhhh, I could really do without hearing things like this right now.

The fact that I changed from the V1 to the SFS is in no way a critisim against Bill,
My car made very good power using the V1 TIP,
If it was'nt for Bill developing and producing the 3" TIP we certainly would'nt be seeing the power number that are being produced now.
My reason for changing was I was never really happy with the amount of joints in the pipework and I did'nt like the way the adaptor fitted to the Turbo and after speaking to Tom about his smoke test it just compounded my worries.
Although saying that I never had any boost leaks with mine that I know of, however when the SFS TIP was fitted there was a noticable improvement in power, low down boost felt much stronger and it held on for longer aswell.

Had a delivery today, kicking off a few recent purchases :)

2 007p service kits and a yellow spring also.

Why 2 you ask? One is mine one is D.K's as he wanted to get his DV serviced too.

Looking increasingly likely that the next purchase I will see is going to be my Milltek decat pipe on Saturday morning - getting it fitted at AmD then... Not sure if the SFS tip will be there as they seem so slow at making them but oh well one day!

If anyone is about AmD early doors Saturday, come say hi

Good man, looking forward to hearing the car with the decat

:D

Me too mate, hoping for a certain noise but I rarely get my hopes up about things so I'll see how it turns out and see if it's what I was after..

There can be no boost leaks on an intake system can there  think about it ;)
(at most there would be a suction, BUT there is zero inlet pipe suction when its as free flowing as the V1/V2 tips are)

V2 as well as being 23% larger csa than V1 dealt with the joins.. and when fitted properly is totally sealed.

I'm sorry you felt you needed to go SFS over the V2.....

It was all to do with price really Bill, with the AmD group buy price the SFS came in a lot cheaper than the V2, plus I was able to sell the V1 witin a week and made a small profit after paying off the SFS :D

Update..

I got over to AmD early doors this morning and had the Milltek decat pipe put in....

Sounds awesome now! I wouldn't say it was quiet before but this is more 'racey' and my kind of thing :D

Got the sports cat in bedroom now... It would make a nice vase or home furnishing piece

LCR is looking good. That Edition 30 isn't to shabby either, not 100% convinced on the black bonnet strip though.

So how would you describe the difference in noise with the cat out?

Love your motor mate, stock but so bloody quick haha
