Small update

Today I fitted:

New tow-bar cover - Which was a total PITA.. The metal clips don't align fully to where they are meant to go, and it was alot of forcing and swearing :censored: to get the new one all clicked in. But it's done now!

Before:

After:

New 'R' badge on the boot:

Before, tatty old cr*p:

After, all fresh:

Also fitted 2 new screws for my engine cover... No more loose rattly noises from there!

I told you that tow cover is like the jack point covers, PITA
How much was a new one if you dont mind me asking as mine has a few 'impact' marks

Nice mate, I was so much happier with new rear badges on

Yeah tell me about it! Tatty badges we're letting the side down. Took the easy route with the side 'R' one's near the repeaters and just left them off. I really am loving the smoother, flusher sides :)

Haha, big PITA mate. I think it was annoying me more so as I wanted to get it out the way to get the new R badge fitted...

That's ok, I paid £8 from my local SEAT. The 2 plastic clips at the top of the cover are not angled the right way from the start, so be prepared to bend them slightly without stressing the plastic and snapping it off as I so nearly did!!

You will curse fitting it I can guarantee! I think fitting the fmic I swore less!

Hi James,

Thanks for the comments! She certainly pulls well.. ;) And those figures we're made without the 3" Badger5 TIP, so I'm keen to see if I've got some extra gain from that.. It certainly feels like it pulls harder top end now with the 3" TIP :)
The map has settled and I've adapted to how it's delivered and when to give it the beans and when not too.... Believe me it can lose traction quite easily, but when you get it down sweet the surge is incredible, really lunges you forward and pulls like a train :D Then again it does have nearly 100 lb/ft more of torque to before it was mapped :cartman:

Nice one on the aerial suggestion, always open to more options! I just thought it was the CTR aerial only which fit, never knew about the S2000 one.. Please could you post a couple of pictures in here? I'll have a quick look at your thread, but if you have anymore not on there, I'd be very keen to see them! Does it look nicer than the oem LCR one then?

Cheers, Tom[/QUOTE]

Tom,

I'm away from home this weekend and so won't be able to take any pics of the aerial specifically but I'll quickly look on my photobucket album, and stick anything that might be useful up, if that's ok.

Bill's TIP seems to be a brilliant bit of kit; it's on my list for the latter part of the year.

James.

James - that's no problem. Only if you can, I would be very grateful as I'd still like a different aerial. Did you source your S2000 one from a Honda dealer?

Bill's TIP is a great bit of kit. I'm very impressed with it. You will certainly notice a difference, even if you aren't remapped.

p.s your car looks fantastic. Just had a quick browse through your reader's ride. Hats off to you! Loving the battery and engine cover finish you've got. A great example of an LCR that's truly well looked after the way it should be! :)

Will be good to see the car on sunday, i cant wait to get back on the rollers again to see if any of the tweaks made the map better or worse in power terms. Dont look forward to seeing mine as its a state and basically a work horse now. A dent on the bonnet due to **** happening in a past relationship. But i try to make it look the best i can do now :)

Mine used to be a daily driver too, hopefully never again! Get alot of stone chips etc..
Certainly will be good to see yours and everyone else's Cupra's on the rollers. Alot of different setups, alot of 3" TIP converts running Jetex like mine now, different maps, different downpipes and cat-backs. Should be a top day with some interesting results for sure.

I'd like to see mine make more than it did (283) with the Forge TIP now the 3" one is on, because I could tell the difference almost instantly. Also got the bigger Jetex FR cone too now so I'm optimistic. But I don't want to say I'm definitely going to better it, because there's so many factors to consider like ambient temps on the day compared to previous roller session etc.

You know youre secretly hoping to break into the 300 club

Haha, I'd not complain if I did, but let's just say I'm not losing sleep over making it on Sunday. Depends what mood she's in aswell, you know how these LCR's can be from day to day ;)

Thanks for the comments mate :)

Certainly never going to leave perishing badges that long ever again. Really tidies it up and it's all cheap parts and easy fitting at the end of the day.

Ahh bet your excited for tomorrow! Your car will certainly feel different [B)]

I'll post up how she does on Sunday with graphs.. But I'm pretty keen on seeing how your car does tomorrow!! I think me Adam and Brad have shown the revised map is very strong, the torque gains are impressive and delivered safely throughout the revs.

Please let me know how it all goes :)

Hey Tom,

As promised, below are a few pictures of the aerial. I can remove the pictures if you want, but I wanted to give you as much reference as possible:

It must of been about three years ago that I got the aerial. I definitely didn't buy it directly from Honda; if my memory serves me right, I may have bought it from e-Bay. If you want a close up pic, just ask and I'll take one once I'm back home in a couple of days.

Good luck on Sunday; I look forward to hearing the results.

James.

Thanks James! Appreciated :)

You can leave the pictures there it's fine, they're a joy to look at!

Certainly liking the aerial, suits the car really well. Think I will have to investigate getting one now! Thanks for that ;)

p.s did you know that the reader's ride link in your sig doesn't work?

I'm liking those new additions to the car mate. It's good to see when owners are renewing worn parts aswell as just chasing big figures.

Keep up the good work mate.

In regards to the Civic aerial, its £24.85 inc VAT from Honda! best off keeping an eye on ebay. I've only managed to find a few comments on the reception using these but they all seem to be positive.

Cheers mate. Even the smaller bits that just need replacing etc give me some satisfaction, getting the car closer to when I'll be happy with it. I'm still not there, got a long way to go and no doubt alot more money to throw at the car!

Aerial wise, I think I'll do just that. Keep my eye on ebay, like the below link and snap one of those up sometime soon. It's not a priority at the moment, quite liking the oem one again because of the reception.

Cheers for the link! :)

Me too mate ;)
Should be an interesting day, so many variants of LCR going on the same rollers. Looking forward to it.

The TIP is a great mod, I can feel the difference in the car since it's been on. But hoping tomorrow I have stronger torque top end since my last dyno run.
