If you are keeping it a while you may want to think about rods too as 330lb/ft is very high
Have a look on the integrated engineering section (144x20 rods)
Indeed Ronin. Thanks for the advice. I think I'll get them done this year, maybe before ARBs etc. I might have to look into this alot more than I thought. As much as I don't rag the car to full potential every 5 minutes, it is so so tempting on the right road now!!
Awesome results mate, especially the torque that's impressive!
Thanks Bud.
Makes all the investment, time and effort worth it!!
Still a long way to go though. I want the car to be handling like it's on rails by the end of the summer is out. Looking forward to this part for sure!!
i highly recommend fitting an LSD, especially with your power
it was bad enough trying to get the power down in mine before i got mine fitted and i am not far off 50bhp down on your figures lol
Haha, I don't have
too much trouble getting the power down, which seems to shock people when I tell them. I have the Powerflex dogbone mount, which has settled in very well. And I recommend this to anyone without it! Makes such a difference. Pretty much eliminated wheelhop for me. Also have quite grippy Bridgestone front tyres. Might
help.
However, a diff is going to be on the menu at some point I'm starting to think more and more.
quality, another push for me to get the badger TIP!!!
I wonder if the improvement will be seen with the OEM box
Cheers mate.
Yes get one. Can't recommend it enough. Hopefully I'll get vagcom logs of airflow this week for all to see......
Thats great news tom. This has proven the badger 5 tip and the tx intercooler to be great bits of kit. Im very happy for you. My badger 5 tip will arrive next week, now i really cant wait. Well done tom, top man.
Cheers Sam
I think your car is crying out for one. It should certainly free up some mid-top end torque on yours for sure! As I've mentioned above, I'm hoping to do some logs this week to show everyone.
Hope your TIP comes nice and early and it improves your car like it did mine.
How does the car feel as apose to pre bill tip?
Feels stronger mid to top end mate. Just keeps pulling rather than tailing off with the Forge TIP. You have to keep feeding that turbo some good air
Still, 283bhp with the Forge TIP is still alright and only if you want that bit more would I recommend changing for Badger5 like I did..
The elusive 300 BHP has been reached, without a hybrid turbo too
I'll have to see about getting a 3" TIP for mine, at 288 BHP its getting close to the 300 magical figure.
Have you got any logs before the 3" TIP was fitted with stage 2 map?
288bhp is awesome without one mate. I think you'll hit it personally. Have read your reader's ride and your LCR is an inspiration for all to see.
I'm using your thread in the near future to get the handling on mine wired!! Yours sounds like a scalextric car!
My friend has done logs using his vag-com pre 3" TIP, so I will ask him if they are saved somewhere as I don't have them myself. But we've done a few runs before when logging the fmic temp reductions after fitting.
