Hi need to adjust my tappets theyre getting a bit noisy even after an oil change and engine flush.

does anyone have the gap mesurements for inlet and exhaust tappets to use with my feeler gauge.

i was thinking 0.2 for inlet and 0.3 for exhaust

i have a 1.4 8v ibiza 99 reg

Yeah they are but do they not have a rocker arm. i adjusted the tappets on my old toyota that had hydralic tappets and it had a rocker arm that allowed me to set the gap

Oh Cr4p guess im replacing them then theres my saturday gone

my beeza is very noisy with regard to tappets, well i think its that as i aint had her that long as yet lol.
i am still trying to get used to all of the normal rattles bangs and whallops of the exhaust trying to bray its way into the cabin, and the other daft noises and creaks she makes as we hurtle down most roads.

should i be worried about this noise or will it all be fine untill the day she just goes bang through lack of care?
will it be a costly job too as i am on limited funds and am trying to sort other much needed items like feet and zorsts out first?

i should have clarified, zorst only trys to join me in the cabin when i loose tracktion and spin the fronts up a lil.
a cure would be nice though, i shall look into it when i get this backbox fitted

look over on the main club gti site, and search for 'atf trick'
this sorted mine out. they can also be stripped and rebuilt!
