Hi Chris

Try the tar and glue remover by Auto glym... it worked for me but you will need a weekend to do it as you need to wash the car first then tar remove it (sometimes 2 applications will be required for bad marks) then you will need to polish those areas you have worked on.

You should notice the difference afterwards... either that or have some numpty dent your car and respray the entire side!!! ;) :)

'Claying' will also remove tar rather efficiently.

If you're not familar with the term have a search around in the Car Cleaning and Detailing forum for more info.

Agreed, recently clay'd my whole car and it removes all tar/sap etc... marks, looks awesome once done, and even better with a coat of wax afterwards..!!

why not use a sponge:confused:

They trap the dirt in the surface and rub it all over the car. The humble sponge is responsible for pretty much all swirling on car paint.

Have a look at some of Iains (Finer Details) stickys in the Detailing forum. ;)

I never realised this some time back, then after some effort removing the swirls, then never having used a sponge since, the difference is startling, to say the least. Try it, you wont go back.
