TDI Alternator Replacement

Anyone know a way to remove and replace the alternator on the TDI without removing the front bumper and radiator?

I can get to the top bolt easily enough and the lower one with a struggle, but looks like its going to fowl on the fan motor once i pull it out.

Any suggestions?
