TDI ibiza R-reg every so often loses all power has no throttle response

Hi just wondering if anyones had this problem before?

My car is a 1998 tdi salsa

every so often the car loses all power, it still runs just on idle thou basically it has no throttle response put the pedal to the floor and no change it revs or anything!?

any ideas?

ok i guess depends on what you call a good service?

I've had the car about 2 years and change the oil, air filter & oil filter every 6-8 months is about due another one soon.. Dont do alot of miles probably about 3500 a year..

what do you think about those so called cleaners you pure in to a full tank? never tried before and not sure if there any good?
