tdi knocking

I have a Seat Altea 1.9 Tdi 05, over the weekend it has developed a load knocking noise, there is no power lose but there is also a vibration on acceleration. I’ve had a stethoscope on it and it sounds like top end noise. The noise gets better as the engine warms any ideas?

flywheel deterioration on these vehicles is common and when this occurs it can cause a noise and vibration that replicates that of an engine 'knock' or misfire.

thats sounds about right as you can feel it through the clutch, do you have any idea the best way to fix it?

New flywheel is the only answer, and a new clutch aswell while you're in there as that will be suffering aswell.

as above, it was a recall on earlier models but that is the only cure.
